El jugador uruguayo Luis Suárez se disculpó con el italiano Giorgio Chiellini por morderlo durante el partido de calificación por los octavos de final de ambas escuadras en el Mundial Brasil 2014 y que la valió que la FIFA lo sancionara con nueve partidos y cuatro meses sin poder jugar.

 

En su cuenta de Twitter @luis16suarez, el sancionado lamentó lo ocurrido y prometió a la familia futbolera que jamás volvería a tener un incidente parecido.

 

El jugador escribió el siguiente mensaje tanto en inglés como en español:

 

“Independent from the fallout and the contradicting declarations that have surfaced during these past day, all of which have been without the intention of interfering with the good performance of my national team, the trust is that mu colleague Giorgio Chiellini suffered the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered whit me. For this:

 

I deeply regret what occurred.

 

I apologize to Giorgio Chiellini and the entire football family.

 

I vow to the public that there will never again be another incident like”.
