El papa León XIV y el primer ministro de Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, hablaron este viernes por teléfono, al día siguiente de que tres personas murieran y varias resultaran heridas en un ataque israelí a la única iglesia católica en la Franja de Gaza, indicó el Vaticano.
En la conversación, el pontífice "renovó su llamamiento a redinamizar las negociaciones, con el objetivo de lograr un alto el fuego y poner fin a la guerra".

En el ataque resultó herido el párroco argentino Gabriel Romanelli.
León XIV manifestó además su "preocupación ante la situación humanitaria dramática de la población de Gaza", señaló la Santa Sede.
Netanyahu anunció que Israel investiga el incidente y expresó que el país "lamenta profundamente" el bombardeo, que afirmó fue un error.
