Si estás afiliado al Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) y deseas dar de alta a un familiar, aquí te decimos el proceso y los requisitos para hacerlo.
Los derechohabientes del IMSS tienen dentro de sus beneficios el poder asegurar a sus familiares, como padres, hijos y esposo o concubino.
Debes de saber que en cualquier caso tienes dos modalidades para poder dar de alta a tus familiares y aquí te decimos cuáles son y en qué consisten.
En línea
Antes de seguir es importante que te registres en el Escritorio Virtual y para ello deberás contar con la Firma Electrónica Avanzada del derechohabiente (e.firma) un correo electrónico y la CURP (tanto del afiliado como la del beneficiario).
Una vez que la información se valide, deberás leer y aceptar la “Carta de términos y condiciones”.
Solo de esa manera podrás ingresar a los servicios del Portal del IMSS para dar de alta o de baja a un beneficiario en línea.
Si deseas hacer el trámite en línea puedes hacerlos las 24 horas del día en todos los días del año.
Para ello deberás contar con tu Número de Seguro Social (NSS), una cuenta activa de correo electrónico personal y seguir las instrucciones en la página del IMSS.

En presencial
Si optas por acudir a realizar el trámite en presencial, dirígete a la Unidad de Medicina Familiar (UMF) que te corresponda en un horario de 8:00 a 14:00 horas en unidades con turno matutino, y de 8:00 a 19:30 horas, en unidades con turno matutino y vespertino.
Requisitos para dar de alta a tus papás en el IMSS
Como se mencionó, los padres del afiliado pueden ser dados de alta ante el IMSS y así ser beneficiarios del seguro social. Aquí te dejamos los requisitos que debes tener para registrarlos:
- Identificación oficial vigente (original y copia)
- Copia certificada de Acta de nacimiento, de adopción o de reconocimiento del asegurado o pensionado (original y una copia)
- Comprobante de domicilio con antigüedad no mayor a tres meses (original y copia)
- Fotografía tamaño infantil en blanco y negro o a color (servirá para la cartilla nacional de salud)
- Manifestación bajo protesta de decir la verdad del asegurado o pensionado, de convivencia y dependencia económica (original y una copia)
Requisitos para dar de alta a tus hijos en el IMSS
En caso de que quieras de dar de alta a tu o tus hijos, aquí te dejamos la lista de los requisitos que debes tener:
- Identificación oficial vigente (original y una copia)
- Copia certificada del Acta de Nacimiento, de adopción o de reconocimiento (original y una copia)
- Fotografía tamaño infantil en blanco y negro o a color (es para la cartilla nacional de salud)
Registro de concubinario
- Identificación oficial vigente (original y copia)
- Fotografía infantil en blanco y negro o a color (para cartilla nacional de salud)
- Comprobante de domicilio con antigüedad no mayor a tres meses (original y copia)
